Shield Number Two

Description: This convex shield design is typically made of buffalo hump rawhide. The design of a shell disk with horsehair tassels, coup stripes with a bird painted on it was obtained in the Plains Indian Warrior’s vision quest. It is decorated with five eagle wing feathers, and five long trade cloth tassels hanging on the bottom. A long felt strip wraps the top and sides, as well as hanging down below the shield.  This piece comes framed in an acrylic box.
