Print: Powwow-Picking the New Chief

Description: This is a Powwow scene complete with traditional Indian dancers.  It features 18 Plains Indians from four different tribes: Sioux, Cheyenne, Crow and Blackfoot. They are meeting to discuss many things, but are also interested in whom the new Cheyenne chief may be (evidenced by the war bonnet display while the majestic eagle soars above). Allen first photographed the sculptures of each individual cast paper sculpture piece created his wife Patty Eckman and him. The sculptures were accomplished in a variety of sizes, over a period of time, for many different original pieces.
