Celebrating their inventive evolution of their method and medium.
 
Allen and Patty Eckman have worked in the medium of cast paper sculpture since 1987 and are internationally recognized as the premier artists working in the medium today. They reside and work in Rapid City, South Dakota and have their work represented in fine art galleries there as well as in others around the country. Allen and Patty receive a number of commissions a year and the Eckmans have won numerous awards for their art and have been collected by many museums, corporations and private collectors. They have had scores national and international features in books, magazines, television and radio over the last 25 years and have seen their accomplishments go viral on the internet. Many artists are learning cast paper sculpture using the Eckman Method, a registered trademark of Eckman Fine Art and Allen and Patty Eckman. 
 
The exhibitbition includes their first creations completed over 25 years ago with nearly 50 progressive works in an evolutionary time line to the present day including a free standing life-size figure of an Indian Chief, standing on a rock, holding up a buffalo skull. The piece is 10′ high and was just completed for the exhibition. Subjects are primarily Western Art and Wildlife but also include military, use of color and some 2 dimensional works. Most of the pieces are sizable but at least three are monumental in size. There will be hands on examples of their hand made acid free paper and casts as well as video documentation of their lives and works and video demonstrations of their process.

The Exhibition is at the Dane G. Hansen Memorial Museum, 110 W. Main, Logan, Kansas from August 16th- October 6th, 2013.

  • Limited Edition

    Patty & Allen Eckman both have done a series of signed and numbered limited edition pieces. All are really limited edition originals, as each piece requires hands on sculpting.

  • Major Works

    Allen and Patty Eckman have completed hundreds of commissions in their fine art careers. Commission clients often have a place and size in mind for the finished work so they can email a digital photograph of the location the finished piece will be placed.

    Numerous collectable signed and numbered limited edition fine art prints created from original photography, landscapes and other subjects such as original Vietnam photos.

    An extensive example of the depth, volume, and quality of the artist's work as well as a catalog of some of their past pieces
    Most of these one-of-a-kind pieces are sold, however similar pieces can be ordered.
  • Taking Paper to Bronze

    A unique to the Eckman's and allows them to create detail and textures that cannot be done in other sculpture mediums. There are no size limitations so commissioners can have a monument in bronze for display outside or inside as well as the original for display inside
  • Warriors in the Wind

    "Warriors in the Wind" are one-of-a-kind original sculptures by Allen and Patty Eckman using their trademark process. "The Eckman Method® of Fine Art Cast Paper Sculpture" is museum quality (acid free).
